1. Professor Abdul Ghafar Ismail

Professor Abdul Ghafar Ismail is currently head of research division, Islamic Research and Training Division, Islamic Development Bank and professor of banking and financial economics. He is on leave from School of Economics, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia. He has been a lecturer since 1987 and has been teaching several economics courses such as money and banking, financial economics, advanced macroeconomics, Islamic economics system, money and capital market in Islam and international finance; Islamic banking; money, zakat and the real economy; risk management in Islamic banking; Islamic financial management.

2. Professor Dr. Mohamad @ Md. Som Sujimon

f02.MohamadSujimonProfessor Dr. Mohamad @ Md. Som Bin Sujimon obtained his Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in Faculty of Islamic Jurispendence and Law from Al Azhar University, Cairo, Egypt on 1979. Shortly thereafter, he succesfully completed his Masters of Arts in Teaching (M.A.T), Faculty of Education, Department of Community College, at Mississippi State University (MSU) 3972 in U.S.A (1982) and also received his Ph.D in the Islamic and Middle Eastern Studies from the University of Edinburgh, Scotland, United Kingdom. His area of specialization is Shari’ah (Islamic Law) – Islamic Family Law. Besides, his areas of interest are Kitab Jawi Its Scholars and Thought, Islamization of Knowledge, Anthropology-Sociology, Mua’malat (Islamic Finance). Currently, he is a Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Johor Islamic Studies College . In addition he also serves as a Deputy Director of Australian Centre for Islamic Financial Studies (ACIFS), Head of Australian Shariah Board for Islamic Financial Studies (ASBIF) and Editor-in Chief for Australian Journal of Islamic Banking and Finance (AJIBF), Brisbane Australia.

3. Professor Dr. Engku Rabiah Adawiah

Professor Dr. Engku Rabiah Adawiah is currently a Professor at IIUM Institute of Islamic Banking and Finance (IIiBF), International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM). She obtained her LLB (first class honours) and LLB (Shari’ah) (first class honours) from the IIUM. Shortly thereafter, she successfully completed her Masters of Comparative Laws (MCL) from the same university. In 1998, she was conferred with PhD in law from the University of Aberdeen, United Kingdom. She had also served as a member of Shari’ah Committee to a number of financial institutions in the past. Currently, she is a member of the Syariah Advisory Council of Bank Negara Malaysia (Central Bank of Malaysia), Malaysian Securities Commision and Labuan Financial Services Authority (Labuan FSA), and an independent Shari’ah Advisor for Islamic securities (sukuk) issuance, approved by and registered with the Malaysian Securities Commission. In addition, she is also a member of the Shari`ah Board of Labuan Re and Amanah Ikhtiar Malaysia, the Shari`ah advisor for Danajamin (2009 – 2010), a member of the Board of Directors in the Malaysian Institute of Islamic Understanding and a member of the disciplinary committee for the Malaysian Bar Council. She is also a member of the Shari`ah Board to Khazanah in relation to two of its exchangeable sukuk that had been issued by Rafflesia Capital Ltd and Cherating Capital Ltd.

4. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Rusni Hassan

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Rusni Hassan is currently a Deputy Dean of Institute of Islamic Banking and Finance (IIiBF), International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM). She obtained her LL.B and LL.B (Shari’ah) from UIAM. Shortly thereafter, she successfully completed her Masters of Comparative Laws (MCL) and she holds PhD in law on 2004 from the same university. Currently, she is a member of Shari’ah Committee in Housing Development Financing Corporation Maldives and Shari’ah Advisory Council for IBFIM. In addition, she is a Shariah Advisory Council for Bank Negara Malaysia (2010- 2016) . She had served as a member of Shari’ah Committee at HSBC Amanah (M) Berhad and HSBC Amanah (Takaful) Berhad in the past.

5. Assoc. Prof. Shahida Shahimi

Assoc. Prof. Shahida Shahimi educated at Universiti Malaya on Bachelor of Syariah (Econs.) (Hons) in 1999. She continued her study on Masters of Economics at Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) in 2001 and completed her Ph.D of Economics from the same university in 2006. Her fields of specialization are Islamic banking and finance, Islamic capital market and Islamic economics. Currently, she is a Head of Research Center for Islamic Economics and Finance (EKONIS-UKM) (2013-2016) and also working as an Editor of Malaysian Journal of Economics, Faculty of Economics and Management, UKM.

6. Dr. Nor ‘Adha Abd Hamid

Dr. Nor ‘Adha Abd Hamid obtained her Bachelor of Law (LL.B) from International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) in 1993. Then, she continued her Master of Laws (LL.M) at Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia in 2000, and succesfully completed her Doctor of Philosophy (Laws) (Ph.D) in 2007 at the same university. She received a few awards namely, Service Excellence Award (Excellent Work Performance and Service) (2009), Certificate of Appreciation (10 Year Service Commitment) (2009) and KUIS Certificate of Service Appreciation Award in 2002. On 1999, she started her career as a lecturer of Faculty of Management and Muamalah (FPM), International Islamic University College Selangor (KUIS). Besides, she had served a few positions in KUIS which included as a Deputy Rector of Academic and Research, that started in 2011 until 2012, then the period was extended into second term till March 2014 and she was also a Deputy Rector of Students’ Development and Alumni in 2010 to 2011. Currently, she is a Director of Development and Research Centre (PPP) of International Islamic University College Selangor (KUIS).

7. Dr. Nor Hakimah Haji Mohd Nor

Dr. Nor Hakimah Haji Mohd Nor has been appointed as the Dean of Faculty of Management and Muamalah (FPM), International Islamic University College Selangor (KUIS). She has completed her Bachelor of Bussiness Administration (BBA) (Hons) in Finance at University Teknologi Mara in 1998. Then, she continued her Masters of Science (MSc) Banking and Finance at Louhborough University, United Kingdom. On 2014, she obtained her PhD (Finance) from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM). She received an award of Islamic Financial Planner (IFP) on 24th November 2008 by Financial Planning Association of Malaysia (FPAM) and Islamic Banking and Finance Institute Malaysia (IBFIM). Her area of specialization is in Finance Development, Foreign Direct Investment (FDI). She started her career on 1998 as a part time teacher at S.M.K Ibrahim Fikri, Kuala Terengganu. Currently, she is a lecturer in International Islamic University College Selangor (KUIS).

8. Associate Professor Dr Nurdianawati Irwani Abdullah

Associate Professor Dr Nurdianawati is currently an Associate Professor in Department of Business Administration, Kuliyyah of Economics and Management Sciences, International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM). She obtained Ph.D in Islamic Law of Banking on 2005 at Loughborough University, U.K. On 2001 she obtained Master of Comparative Law (MCL) and Bachelor of Laws (Hons) on 2000 in IIUM. On 2007, she received Bachelor of Laws in Shariah at IIUM. Her areas of expertise covers business law, commercial law, Islamic Banking Takaful and etc. She has produced many journal articles and conference papers in the area of Islamic banking and finance, Takaful and Islamic commercial law. Apart from that, she is also currently a member of Shariah Advisory Council in Standard Chartered Saadiq Malaysia.

1. Mr. Mohd Nazri Chik

Mr. Mohd Nazri Chik holds a Bachelor of Shariah (Islamic Jurisprudence) and Masters of Shariah from the University of Malaya. He started his career in Bank Islam was in June 2004 and served the Bank for five years in various designations including Senior Manager – Head of Shariah Division. Currently he is a secretary of the Shariah Supervisory Council, Assistant General Manager – Head of Shariah Division, Bank Islam Malaysia Berhad. Besides, he is an Accredited Trainer for Islamic Banking and Finance Institute of Malaysia and a member of the Shariah Supervisory Council of Amana Bank Limited, Sri Lanka. In addition he has also lectured at the Ibnu Sina Institute for Islamic and Science & Technology Studies and Academy of Islamic Studies, University of Malaya.

2. Mr. Mohd Zamerey Abdul Razak

Mr. Mohd Zamerey Abdul Razak obtained his Bachelor in Shari’ah at Yarmouk University (Jordan). He succesfully completed his Masters in Shari’ah at National University of Malaysia on 2002. Currently, he is pursuing his PhD at University of Malaya in Islamic Commercial Law. He started his career as a teacher at Maahad Kiblah (Bangi). Furthermore, he also worked as Operation Manager (2002) and Head of Sharia’ah in Department of Takaful IKHLAS (2003). Now, he is a Vice President, Head of Shariah Division, for Bank Rakyat.

3. Mr. Abdul Ghani Endut

Mr. Abdul Ghani Endut is a Director and Head of Shariah Department, CIMB Islamic. He obtained his BA (Hons) of Business Studies (Accounting And Finance) at University of East London in 1991 and also completed BA (Hons) of Islamic Jurisprudence and Legislation, at University Of Jordan (1997). He started his career with CIMB Islamic in 2005, as a Manager, of CIMB Islamic (Shariah Advisory). He was a Manager and Co-Head of Shariah Department, CIMB Islamic in 2006. Then, he continued as a Senior Manager and Head, Shariah Advisory CIMB Islamic in 2008. had been appointed as Director and Head of Shariah Department, CIMB Islamic in 2013. His area of specialisation are Islamic Banking (Concepts, Contracts and Shariah Issues), Islamic Transactions Law, Islamic Inheritance and Islamic Wills and Sources of Shariah Law.

4. Mrs Suri Hanim Mohamed

Suri Hanim Mohamed previously was a Head of ICBU – Islamic Banking, Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi UFJ Bhd. She was also previously a Head of Structuring, Asia Pacific at BNP Paribas Najmah from April 2009 until April 2011. She is holding BA (Hons) in Accounting from University of Portsmouth, United Kingdom. She also obtained Master in Islamic Financial Practice (MIFP) from International Centre for Education in Islamic Finance (INCEIF), Kuala Lumpur. Apart from that she is also a Capital Markets Services Representative Licence Holder under Capital Markets and Services Act 2011, Malaysia.
